what is your favorite era in history and what attracts you to it?

Alexsh asked:

it can be any time and you can pick more than one if needed…

i like the French Revolution, 1970’s, the Renaissance, Civil-War Era (American) and the Industrial Revolution.

French Revolution was like…crazy. i love learning about it. not so much the napoleanic era that comes afterwards but the reign of Louis the XIV to the XVI.

i like the Seventies. i don’t agree much with what went on, (such as some of the cultural “revolutions” that went on) but its a great time period to learn about anyways.

And i love the civil war and industrial-revolution eras because there is such a notable change from the 1700’s, I think. like everything shifted. And the civil war is an amazing thing to learn about
thats true catwoman i agree. those are two of my favorite also ;]

My favorites are the Civil Rights Movement and the WWII. CRM because its the best and worst of America. WWII because its unlike any other war, with dynamic chartchers and a good v. evil vibe.

Mid- to late-1800s, in Texas, of course. The wild and wooly West. That, and the War years (1940-1945) because of the kickin’ music.

Outside of Egypt , Greek and Roman history. My favorite at the moment is the European Renaissance inspired by the Medici. It seems to me that once the Romans embraced Christianity they entered a thousand years of darkness without hardly any major cultural or scientific advancements that benefited the people. This all changed once the Medici family secretly financed the arts and sciences that were dangerously offensive to the Church. This begin the rapid scientific progress that ultimately led to the Industrial revolution. Nothing will ever be the same again.
