my question is “did mao create a cruel dictatorship in china?”
i have to write an essay addressing these points:
-problems facing the Communists in 1949
-the legacy of the japanese
-achievements of the 1950’s
-communist methods
-mao’s mistakes
-the cultural revolution
i cant find much, but i might be looking in the wrong places
its being written in class tomorow
any help would be appreciated forget the essay, i have to write a ‘balanced speech’ towards the topic, so i think that means points for and against?

maybe you must have to find it in wikipedia
what year are you in at school? do you have a text book at home? class notes?
If not i would suggest looking on the internet for as much information as you can get.. do a search, read from different sites (but remember the internet isnt always reliable)
My advice would first be to consider what you think cruel means… opression, supression, poverty etc….
From the points you have noted it seems that they want an analysis of the policies which Mao implimented after he came to power… why were they implimented, what else could have been done, were there outcomes ‘cruel”? were there positive and negatives of these policies, if so what were these.
