Marriage in China before and after the Great Cultural Revolution?
Xinro asked:
Could someone provide me with information on how marriage worked in China before and after the Great Cultural Revolution, and the differences as well as reason for them? Links are fine as long as they’re from reputable sources.

the only thing i know is that their marriages are always fixed. the ceremony, i don’t know anything because i don’t want to know anything about china’s religion.
Read this book, “Wild Swans,” about three generations of Chinese women. It is fascinating. The grandmother was a purchased concubine, her feet were bound, and she was forced to live with an older doctor. The Mother was a Communist, high in the party, and married for love, because men and women were treated as equals. The Daughter, author, also married for love.
I’m a 20 years old Chinese college student of a university of science and technology. As i know ,when in the feudal age, some parts of the marriages are designated by the parents of the bride and bridegroom. And after China is released, many young people have the liberty of getting marriages but the thinking about marriage may be not very inner-directed and open this mean people will affected by someone around them like their parents and friends. And now,in most big city and developed city ,the people are open and have their own ideas of marriage,Even appear some reverse phenomenons like “flash marriage ” ,that means 2 young people get marriages carelessly ,this always cause marriage broking .But in the rural areas ,i think the phenomenons i said above still exist.
